Fearless_Oil wrote: Are runes inherently magical?… I was wondering if runes are inherently magical. If not, then why do people use them instead of making their own symbols? I wrote: No, they are not. People use them because they’re told to and it’s convenient. Fearless_Oil wrote: So from my personal understanding of magic and consciousness, something only works if you believe it works. Yet when I search this subreddit, people report greater success when using runes. Is this because people feel safer and more confident when using runes, or is it because of the reasons the person above stated? I Read More
Definitions of Magic “What is magic?” or what is “Psi” or “What is subtle energy?” and other questions like that are questions that routinely get asked a lot in paranormal communities. A lot of pedagogies in paranormal communities and cultures attempt to answer that question from the axioms of their paradigms and the intuitions of their cultural frameworks. How different places and authors decide to answer these questions tends to be derived from a cultural perspective so that the answer is predicated by how cultures and communities do things. In a lot of communities, this idea of magic being predicated Read More

A generic graph from a mod 10 stellation algorithm. It can be used for magical seals and talismans.
There’s technically no reason to charge a sigil. A sigil is nothing more than a symbol. A symbol is just a categorization of things that are referenced. When I say car or book, I am creating a category where I am stating that things that fit the criteria of those categories do so such that they can be placed within that category and thus treated as extensional members. This means there is a relationship between objects in that category and that category – the symbol. Think of an arrow being drawn from the sigil/symbol to whatever the sigil is about. Read More

I’m looking for compatability with my phone (LG V40), exportation to PDF if possible and the ability to organize it in traditional book format. Psychic information about things is oftentimes very archetypal, abstract, and requires a degree of intuition to interpret correctly. When discussing things that correspond to that sense of intuition, this is very useful. That sense of intuition; however, tends to be inaccurate. Psychically perceiving what is on a person’s desk is entirely different from being able to read the paper documents that are on the person’s desk albeit you know they are there psychically. Various protocols have been designed within the context of ESP to address this issue. However, techniques that are abstractions of psychokinesis and divinatory magical practices can be Read More
